Professional Engineers

For qualified engineers with proven experience (minimum 2 years post-graduation).

Mandatory Application Requirements

Proven professional engineering experience of more than two (2) years after graduation.

Passport-size Photograph (PNG or JPG format).

Scanned copy of National ID or Passport (PNG or JPG).

Scanned copy of Notarized Bachelor’s Degree (A0) (PNG or JPG).

Soft copy of a signed Career Statement or CV in PDF format.

Soft copy of an endorsed, signed, and stamped technical report (certified by Supervisor).

Foreign Practicing License (Required only for non-Rwandan applicants).

Foreign Degree Certificates (Notarized, PNG or JPG).

Proof of Application Fee Payment (Bank pay slip uploaded via Portal).

Important Notes & Conditions

Degrees from foreign countries must have an Equivalence Certificate issued by HEC.

Rwandan or citizens of EAC countries benefit from Mutual Recognition Agreements.

All applications are processed through the IER Membership Digital Portal.

Exemptions (Interviews & Technical Report)

The following applicants are exempted from interviews and technical report submission, but must still comply with other requirements:

Applicants with more than 10 years of proven engineering experience.
PhD holders in related engineering fields.
Cabinet appointees with engineering backgrounds.
Military officers in engineering services.
